Evans participated in the historic all-female flight demonstration at Super Bowl LVII in 2023, celebrating 50 years of women in naval aviation. Another Californian, Lieutenant Serena N. Wileman, is a dedicated Navy aviator. She was commissioned in 2018 and joined the 130th Electronic Strike Squadron, also known as the “Zappers,” in 2021. Wilanders and Evans recently returned from an extended deployment in the Middle East, where they performed missions over Yemen and supported operations in the Red Sea.
