It was cold.
It was raining.
And then I heard it — the faintest little cry from under a bush. 🥺🌧️
I looked closer… and there it was.
A baby raccoon, soaked and shivering, barely able to move.
No mother. No warmth. Just fear in its tiny eyes.
I wrapped it in my hoodie, held it close, and whispered,
“You’re safe now.”
And then… it looked up at me,
Made the softest sound,
And rested its head on my hand. 😭
That was the moment everything changed.
I thought I was rescuing it —
But maybe… it rescued me.
