Iran has launched strikes on a US air base following Donald Trump’s bombing of nuclear sites
Iran has launched six missiles towards US bases in the capital of Qatar, Doha, according to reports.
Donald Trump launched an attack on Iran’s key nuclear facilities on Saturday night (June 21), with the president declaring the mission a ‘success’ after it ‘completely obliterated’ the Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan nuclear sites.
Worries about the international fallout of the bombings have been growing however, with fears over how Iran will retaliate after it threatened it would be coming up with a ‘decisive response’ to the US attack.
And that response came on Monday (June 23), with Iran targeting Ain al-Asad airbase, the largest US base in the Middle East that houses some 10,000 troops.
Qatari air defences have intercepted the missiles, while there are believed to be no casualties or injuries, Sky News reports.
Earlier today, it was announced Qatari airspace had been closed amid the threat of an attack by Iran.
